Resistance is generated by real water in the tank. When pulling, a paddle wheel moves the water – creating a realistic, smooth rowing feel just like on open water.

The LED lighting displays your current stroke rate in real time via a color-coded system: green at 18–26 strokes per minute, blue at 27–32, and red over 32. This allows you to stay in the optimal range without constantly looking at the display.

Yes. The water resistance is progressive: the harder you pull, the higher the resistance. In addition, you set the base level via the amount of water in the tank.

Rowing is a full-body workout: legs, glutes, back, core, arms, and shoulders work together in one fluid motion – for high calorie burn and strengthening of nearly all major muscle groups.

You can connect the RA18 Lightning to fitness apps like Kinomap via Bluetooth and row to outdoor videos of real routes. In addition, 16 training programs are pre-installed in the device – no subscription is required.
